F.R.O.G.S.
Binders

What is a F.R.O.G.S. Binder?

A FROGS binder is a special notebook that your child will carry to and from school everyday this year.

Frogs is an acronym for Fully Responsible Organized & Growing Students.

The Frogs binder will help your child stay organized and keep you in touch with our classroom.

F.R.O.G.S. Rules:

Take care of your FROGS book; it will be used all year!

Clean out the "Leave Home" pocket every evening.

Take your FROGS book home everyday and bring it back each morning.

F.R.O.G.S. Dont's:

Don't make any marks or drawings in or on your FROGS book.

Don't leave your FROGS book at home, in the car or bus, or at extended day.

Don't let anyone borrow your FROGS book or tear pages out.

Don't put any papers in your FROGS book that do not belong.

What’s In a F.R.O.G.S. Binder?

Front Pocket: School/PTA Papers

In the front pocket of the binder you will find important school and/or PTA papers.  Please remove these papers and read all these papers as they will keep you up to date on special events/programs going on at Palm City Elementary.

 Zipper Pocket: Money and Notes

Please place all money (lunch, field trips, book orders, etc.) in this pocket so it does not get “lost” in the bottom of your child’s backpack.  Please also place any notes for absences or important notes to the teacher in this pocket. Students will empty this pocket every morning while unpacking.

 Clear Sleeve: Reading Log

In the front of the clear sleeve is a reading log.  Every Monday and Wednesday nights homework is to read with your child or have your child read to you. Please fill out the book, title, date, and sign.  I will replace the reading logs for you as needed.  In the back of the clear sleeve is the spelling list for the week. Every Monday a new spelling list will be placed in the sleeve.

Pocket Folder: Leave at home/Return to school

This folder holds all important papers. The "leave at home" side contains all graded papers. The "return to school" side contains homework, unfinished class work, or school documents that require parent signatures.

Back Pocket

On Fridays you will find a behavior chart in the back pocket. Please review this, initial it and send it back to school on Monday. If a students’ card on the classroom behavior chart has stayed on green, students will earn a yellow star for that day of the week. If a student did not earn a yellow star for that day I will write what the behavior or issue was.
