


Student and Parent Circulation Policy
Materials available for checkout include: books, audio book kits, parent library items.
Students in grades Kindergarten may check out one item at a time.
Students in first grade may check out one item during the first semester and two the second semester.
Students in grades second through fifth may check out two items at a time.
Parents may check out seven items at a time (including student and parent materials).
Library materials are checked out to parents and students for a two week period.
Students and parents may renew items once if needed, but only if the item is not on hold for other patrons.
There are no fines for overdue materials, but a patron may not check out any additional materials until after they have returned or paid for the lost item.
Reference books may not be checked out and are for use in the media center only.
All library materials must be returned to the media center at the end of every school year.
All materials checked out of the media center are the responsibility of the patron. Lost or damaged materials must be paid for in full before additional materials may be borrowed.

Book Care
Keep books clean.
Keep books dry.
Treat books like your best friend.
Return your borrowed books on time.
The
media staff will collect materials for teachers on a requested topic. Materials Request forms
are available online. Please be specific and allow 48 hours to process
these
requests.
Various equipment is available for checkout on a first come, first serve basis. Please plan ahead to be sure you have equipment reserved for the date and time needed.
Please report any
problems with AV
and computer equipment. Requests for Repair forms are
available
in the media center.
Whole classes or small
groups may schedule the media center for instruction on an as need
basis. The
media specialist will collaborate with the teachers to develop lessons
that
enhance the classroom curriculum including themes based curriculum,
research,
reading, and writing skills. Please schedule these classes one week
prior to
the visit to allow for planning and the collection of materials.
Small groups of students
doing research are welcome, but it is helpful to schedule these small
group
visits in advance with the media specialist to ensure that help is available for
students when they arrive.
Teachers may send three
students at a time to the media center at any time during the day to
exchange
books or for independent reading time unless otherwise notified. Students should
be limited to one visit per day to protect their instructional time.
