What is a
S.T.A.R. Binder?

A STAR Binder is a
special notebook that your child will carry
to and from school everyday this year.
STAR is an acronym
for Students Taking Academic
Responsibility.
The STAR Binder
will help your child stay organized and keep
you in touch with our classroom.
S.T.A.R. DO’s:
Take care of your STAR
Binder; it will be used all year!
Take your STAR Binder
home every day and bring it back each

Home" pocket every evening.

What's in a S.T.A.R.?
Here is an overview of what
is inside our STAR:
Front Pocket: Return to
school
This pocket holds all
important papers. The
"return to school" side contains homework,
unfinished class work, or school documents
that require parent signatures.
Clear Sleeve: DPS/Reading Log
In the front of the clear
sleeve is your child's Daily Performance
Sheet. This sheet keeps track of your
child's behavior.
Please check this sheet every day for
communication from school to home.
In
the back of the clear sleeve is your child's
Reading Log. This needs to be filled out
every day and get signed by a parent.
Your child's daily homework is to read for
30 minutes every night unless I tell them
otherwise.
Back Pocket: Leave at Home
In the back pocket of the
binder you will find important school and/or
PTA papers. Please remove these papers and
read all these papers as they will keep you
up to date on special events/programs going
on at Jensen Beach Elementary.
