Principal

Principal, Nancy Marin, has been at PCE since 1973. Born, raised and educated in the Boston area, Mrs. Marin is proud of her New England heritage and liberal arts degree from Tufts University. She taught 5th grade for 8 years in the Lawrence, Long Island school district, and began her career at PCE as a 5th grade teacher. In 1978, in addition to her teaching duties, she assumed the role of school wide math coordinator, then became curriculum coordinator, assistant principal, and finally, principal in 1986. She now serves children of students she taught, and enjoys the community both as a resident and school administrator. Mrs. Marin was honored with The Outstanding Principal Award from Partners in Education, and was nominated for the Florida Elementary Principal Award by the staff in 1994-95. In 1996, she was presented with the Treasure Coast Chapter of Women's American ORT (Organization for Rehabilitation through Training), Outstanding Leader in Education Award.

Mrs. Marin has coached the school’s spelling team since 1975. She is happiest when she is working with the team, and proud of how well PCE has done to produce winners and students who participate in the Scripps Howard National spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.

Mrs. Marin has a strong commitment to the children and families of Palm City Elementary, and looks forward to serving them for many years to come.
